PINE BLUFF -- A 22-year-old Pine Bluff man has been sentenced to 30 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction in a 2013 killing in the parking lot of the Lakeview Apartments on Barraque Street.
Jefferson County Circuit Judge Jodi Raines Dennis handed down Michael Rentals' sentence on Sept. 9 in the killing of Carol Baker, 54, on May 27, 2013.
Prosecutors said Rentals had initially been charged with first-degree murder but entered a no-contest plea to second-degree murder.
Dennis sentenced him to 30 years on the murder charge and to 20 years on one count of committing a terroristic act. The sentences are set to run concurrently.
