Koilan Jackson was wearing an ice pack around his right ankle Friday night, a possible downside to Little Rock Parkview's otherwise stress-free 35-5 victory over Little Rock Catholic.

Patriots Coach William Hardiman was quick to reassure anyone concerned, though.

"He's just trying to be cute," Hardiman said. "He'll be alright."

That's a good thing for the Patriots (3-0), considering how much the junior quarterback has done through the first three weeks of the season.

Jackson passed for 211 yards and 4 touchdowns on 10-of-21 attempts and rushed for 78 yards and another touchdown in Friday's victory at War Eagle Field. It was the third consecutive game this season that Jackson has passed for four touchdowns while leading the Patriots to their first 3-0 start since 2011.

Jackson's touchdowns Friday were spread to three different receivers and three of them came in the second quarter as Parkview took a 21-3 lead at halftime.

Jeremiah McDowell caught a pass near the sideline in the second quarter and sprinted for a 62-yard score to put Parkview up 6-3. Then, after Tyree Madison intercepted a Taylor Price pass, Jackson connected with Amari James on a fade pass in the corner of the end zone to make it 13-3. Jackson then found Kolby McNeal for a 21-yard touchdown to make it 21-3 at halftime and McNeal also caught a 42-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.

"We want to make everyone a weapon," Hardiman said. "So you can't isolate and pinpoint one or two, we want to spread the field and be dangerous."

Parkview's defense was just as effective against a Catholic offense that was missing two of its playmakers. Quarterback Andre Sale watched the game with his left arm in a brace after fracturing a bone in his elbow in last week's loss to Cabot, and running back back Lance Harville-Thomas missed the game with a foot injury, according to Coach John Fogleman.

To make up for Sale's absence, receiver Taylor Price made his first varsity start at quarterback. Price was 17 of 29 for 122 yards with 1 interception and Monroe McKay carried 23 times for 92 yards while filling in for Harville-Thomas.

Catholic (1-2) finished with 139 yards and its only points in the second half came on a third-quarter safety.

Fogleman pointed to a second-quarter touchdown pass from Price to Thompson Olaimey right before halftime that was called back for holding and a second-quarter sequence in which the Rockets faced second-and-goal from the 1 and couldn't score as disappointments.

"I thought the guys that stepped in for our guys did a really good job," Fogleman said. "I thought they did well, and we didn't give them a lot of help."

Catholic's defense allowed 318 yards.

"You miss one tackle against those guys and they're gone," Fogleman said. "We just can't match their speed. we got out of place and boom."
