At 2:43 a.m., police were called to the Stone Ridge Apartments at 5201 Geyer Springs Road, where they found a silver Mercury Grand Marquis in the parking lot with bullet holes in it, according to a police report. Inside one of the apartments, police found a 17-year-old with a gunshot wound to the right side of his head.

The 17-year-old, whose name was not released because of his age, could talk and walk. He told police he was in the Mercury while his friend went into an apartment to see another friend. The 17-year-old told police someone shot into the car while he was waiting, and he was hit in the head.

The 17-year-old then went to another friend's apartment at the same complex, which is where police and first responders found him. He was transported to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock.
