3 of 4 stolen police vehicles recovered; 20-year-old sought

Arkansas State Police are looking for a 20-year-old suspect in the theft of at least one of the four decommissioned police vehicles stolen from the agency's Little Rock headquarters.

State police spokesman Bill Sadler said Traishaad Thompson is wanted on a charge of theft by receiving tied to one of the stolen vehicles that was recovered in Union County. Sadler said police want to speak to Thompson about the other cases as well.

The vehicles were stolen from a fenced-in area at department headquarters at Interstate 30 and Geyer Springs Road. An audit earlier this month revealed they were missing. Three of the four have been recovered.

Sadler said he could not release particulars about the ongoing investigation into the thefts, including how Thompson was identified as a suspect.
