Cerebral Southern rockers Uncle Lucius at Stickyz

Uncle Lucius will perform at 8:30 p.m. today at Stickyz Rock 'n' Roll Chicken Shack. Admission is $10.

Uncle Lucius is touring to promote the band's fourth album, The Light, released June 9 on Boo Clap/Thirty Tigers Records. Based in Austin, Texas, the band combines the talents of five songwriters. One of the five, guitarist Mike Campbell, describes the band as "Southern rock for the thinking man," citing its influences as philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti, mythologist Joseph Campbell and musicians Willie Nelson, The Band and drummer Max Roach.

New Orleans band Bonerama will perform at 9 p.m. Friday. Admission is $10 general admission or $15 for reserved seating.

Andy Frasco & the U.N. -- the Los Angeles band, formed in 2007, that calls its sound "party blues" -- will perform at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $8 in advance; $10 the day of the show.

Country singer Aaron Watson will perform, along with opening act Parker McCollum, at 9 p.m. Friday at the Rev Room. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 the day of the show.

Watson recently became the first independent male artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart with his Feb. 17 album release The Underdog.

Tab Benoit will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $20.

Benoit, a Louisiana blues rock singer-songwriter-guitarist, has released 18 albums since 1993, and also spends his time as the owner of Tab Benoit's Lagniappe Music Cafe in Houma, La., along with founding "Voice of the Wetlands," which is devoted to promoting awareness of the receding coastal wetlands of his home state.
