Snacking in the streets: Dozens of restaurants on wheels will descend on downtown Little Rock for the Main Street Food Truck Festival, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 3. Main Street will be blocked off from Fourth to Eighth streets so vendors can serve visitors tacos, barbecue, ice cream, pie and a wide range of creative edibles. Playing in the streets: Musical acts, children's crafts, bounce houses, arts and crafts sales and lots of food will take over Little Rock's Hillcrest neighborhood during the annual HarvestFest on Oct. 17. The Hillcrest Farmers Market, a bird walk and pancake breakfast start early in the morning, but the main festival with family activities is 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Music and a fashion show continue into the night. Kavanaugh Boulevard between Walnut and Monroe streets will be closed. Admission is free. Call (501) 607-0796 or visit harvestfest.us.
