Police say they have arrested a suspect in a shooting that injured a man in Cabot Monday night.

Cabot Police Department Sgt. Keith Graham said Michelle Lynn Brimer is charged with first-degree battery in the shooting, which was reported around 7:30 p.m.

The victim, whose name was not released, was said to have suffered a single gunshot wound. His condition Tuesday wasn't known, but Graham said he had been in treatment in a local hospital's Intensive Care Unit earlier in the day.

Police said they responded to a report of gunfire near Locust and Vine Streets before locating the victim.

Brimer was developed as a suspect and arrested overnight by the Pulaski County sheriff's office. She was later questioned and booked into the Lonoke County jail, authorities said.

Graham said the circumstances surrounding the shooting — including the motive and the relationship between the suspect and the victim — were still unclear.

"It's too early to tell," he said. "We're not 100 percent sure."
