"There are worse crimes than burning books," the poet and Nobel Prize-winner Joseph Brodsky once said. "One of them is not reading them."
Each year, students at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service compile a list of recommended reading. This year's assortment is a varied array of more than three dozen titles, including:
• Beyond Religion: Ethics for a Whole World by the Dalai Lama
• Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream by President Barack Obama
• A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
• Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri
• Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
• This Changes Everything:Capitalism vs. the Climate by Naomi Klein
• The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
