CROSS COUNTRY

Arkansas men move up in poll

The Arkansas men's team moved one spot to No. 15 in the USTFCCCA coaches' poll, which was released Tuesday.

The Razorbacks earned 160 points in the poll. Colorado tops the poll, followed by Stanford, Syracuse, Wisconsin and Oregon. Mississippi was the only other SEC team in the poll, coming in at 13th.

Arkansas will compete in the Chili Pepper Festival on Saturday at Agri Park in Fayetteville.

VOLLEYBALL

Arkansas Tech sweeps Henderson State

Hunter Eshnaur recorded 11 kills as Arkansas Tech (10-5, 4-0 Great American Conference) beat Henderson State (1-15, 0-4) 25-23, 25-20, 25-10 on Tuesday in Arkadelphia.

Sarita Stegall finished with 32 assists and 10 digs for the Golden Suns.

Harding beats OBU

Sara Smith had a career-high 18 kills and five blocks in Harding's 3-1 victory (23-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-14) over Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday in Searcy.

Molly Howard had 17 kills, and Zoe Hardin added eight kills and nine blocks for Harding (6-9, 3-1 GAC).

OBU (7-5, 2-2) was led by Abby Pickett, who had 16 kills. Stephanie Pollnow added 10 kills.

SAU tops UAM

Southern Arkansas (6-5, 1-3) swept Arkansas-Monticello 25-12, 25-21 and 25-10 on Tuesday in Monticello.

SAU was led by Serena LeDuff's 15 kills. Taylor Reaume had 37 assists and 19 digs.

Kaila Kikugawa led UAM with 12 assists and four digs. Sydni Shulz had nine digs.

Lyon earns victory over John Brown

Makenzie Sharp and Katarina Frickleton had 13 kills each to lead Lyon (7-7) to a 3-2 victory (17-25, 25-15, 20-25, 25-19, 17-15) over John Brown on Tuesday in Batesville.

Audrey Dearien led John Brown with 16 kills.

GOLF

UALR, ASU women struggle

The UALR women's team finished 11th out of 18 teams at the Johnie Imes Invitational at Old Hawthorne on Tuesday in Columbia, Mo.

UALR shot 24-over par 888.

Arkansas State posted a 49-over par 913.

Stina Resen was the Trojans' top individual finisher, shooting a 75 on Tuesday to finish at 4-over 220 and tied for 29th. Sabrina Bonnanno tied for 33rd with a 5-over 221. Emelie Blennow had a 9-over 225 and finished tied for 51st. Pernille Orlien finished tied for 58th after recording a 10-over 226. Hannah Ward tied for 69th at 14-over 230.

Aracelly Jimenez led the Red Wolves with a 6-over 222, tying for 38th. Abigail Laker tied for 61st at 11-over 227. Kristen Garner had a 14-over 230 and tied for 69th. Sarah Childers tied for 79th, finishing at 19-over 235. Maci Brooks finished 91st with a 27-over 243.

Host Missouri won the tournament with a 39-under 825.

SOCCER

UCA players get Southland awards

Central Arkansas defender Stacia Carroll and goalkeeper Lauren Mercuri were named the Southland Conference's defensive and goalkeeper of the week, respectively.

Carroll helped UCA hold McNeese State and Lamar to one goal apiece last week.

Mercuri earned her first two victories against McNeese State and Lamar.

Harding, OBU players honored

Harding junior defenders Melita Sutherland and Phillip White and Ouachita Baptist sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Llanes were honored by the Great American Conference.

Sutherland was named the GAC defender of the week, while Llanes earned the league's goalkeeper of the week award. White was named the league's men's defender of the week.

Sutherland helped lead the Bison to shutout victories over Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarena. Llanes allowed one goal in two victories against Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist.

White was the only Harding defender to play a full 180 minutes in the Bison's two matches against Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene.
