Friday recruiting tidbits: Hogs' 2016 basketball class flourishes

Arkansas' 2016 basketball class flourished this past season.

Shooting guard Daryl Macon of Holmes Community College finished sixth in the nation in scoring with a 23.9 point average while also having 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists a game. He shot 49.7 percent from the field, 37.6 percent from the three-point line and 82.9 precent from the free throw line.

Guard Jaylen Barford of Motlow State Community College led the nation in scoring with a 26.2 average. He also averaged 7.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.8 steals a game. He shot 58.8 percent from the field, 35.5 percent from the three-point line and 78 percent from the free throw line.

Forward Arlando Cook of Connors State averaged 16 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals a game. He shot 50.7 precent from the field and 70.1 percent from the free throw line.

Small forward Adrio Bailey of Campti (La.) Lakeview averaged 19.5 points, 12.7 rebounds, 3.9 block shots and 1.5 steals a game. He shot 67 percent from the field and 25 percent from the three-point line.

Guard C.J. Jones of Birmingham, (Ala.) Park Christian reports averaging 28.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 4 steals. He broke the school record in the three-point percentage with 60 percent. He shot 85 percent from the free throw line.

Jones said he plans to sign with the Hogs April 13 and will report to Fayetteville Memorial Day weekend.

Arkansas extended a scholarship offer to safety J'Marick Woods on Thursday.

Woods, 6-3, 205 of Florence, Alabama committed to Michigan a few days ago. He also has offers from Florida, Mississippi State, Louisville, Penn State, Tennessee and others. He plans to enroll at the school of his choice in Jan. Video highlights CLICK HERE

The Hogs extended an offer to offensive lineman Shane Clenin, 6-6, 285 of Festus, (Mo.) Jefferson on Thursday. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Greenwood sophomore quarterback Connor Noland plans to attend Texas A&M's spring game April 9 and the A&M vs Georgia baseball on the 10th. He also plans to visit Arkansas' spring practice April 16 and hopes to attend the Arkansas vs Florida baseball game the same day.

Arkansas linebacker target Josh Clarke will not visit the Hogs on Saturday like planned because of transportation issues.

Clarke, 6-3, 219, 4.47 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Jefferson. (La.) Riverdale has more than 20 scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Arizona State, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Ole Miss.
