Where I live: Walton Heights in west Little Rock
Occupation: Chief of operations for mental health, Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. I have quite the passion for the field of mental health, particularly as it relates to veterans. I also blog as John the Beer Snob on Facebook and Twitter, and publish a weekly email newsletter on craft beer happenings in central Arkansas.
My favorite space is: The smaller of two back decks. Our home is a "walk-out" design built on a steep grade, so the decks are quite a ways up overlooking a small wooded valley. My beer closet/cellar is pretty cool, too.
Why? I love the view and the serenity. It is very much like living out in the woods, even though we are in the city with all the conveniences. This is where I cook out and where I set up my home-brew equipment. On a beautiful day, I'll spend most all day out there making beer from scratch. Between the birds and the critters, I have plenty of company out there.
If I could make one change to improve this space I would: Put new planks down but maybe not. I kind of like the character of the weathered old ones. If it were a little larger, that would be nice.
