A forever stamp featuring Fayetteville photographer Tim Fitzharris' work along the Assateague Island National Seashore will be available this summer.

One of 16 U.S. Postal Service stamps commemorating the National Park Service’s centennial will promote the work of a Fayetteville outdoor photographer whose job takes him from coast to coast.

The photo taken by Tim Fitzharris features two wild horses roaming freely on the Assateague Island National Seashore, which encompasses portions of Maryland and Virginia.

In a news release, the Postal Service said Fitzharris’ photo will be placed on a forever stamp starting June 2 as part of a pane of 16 stamps.

Ahead of a first-day-of-issue ceremony that day, each stamp has been previewed individually. The pane will be on display during the World Stamps Show in New York, which will be held May 28 through June 4.

Fitzharris is also an associate editor and features writer for the internationally known periodical Popular Photography, according to his website. He has also published more than 25 books on outdoor photography.
