SE MISSOURI STATE 4, ARKANSAS STATE 3

SE Missouri State (21-8) rallied with three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat Arkansas State (13-15) on Tuesday in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

The Redhawks took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning on a home run by Dan Holst, but the Red Wolves tied the game in the top of the fourth on an RBI double by Joe Schrimpf. ASU took a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth inning on an RBI single by Matt Burgess though the left side, setting the stage for SEMO pinch hitter Chris Osborne to hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the inning. Neil Lambert and Ty White reached base in the top of the ninth to bring the go-ahead run to the plate for ASU, but Garrett Rucker flew out to left-center field as the Redhawks extended their winning streak to 11 games.

Burgess was 2 for 3 to lead ASU offensively, while Schrimpf was 2 for 4. The Red Wolves managed eight hits but left 10 runners on base. Garrett Gandolfo was 3 for 3 to lead SEMO, while Kylar Robertson was 2 for 4. Justin Murphy (3-2) earned the victory after allowing 2 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeout in 1 1/3 innings. Tanner Ring (1-1) took the loss after allowing the home run in the eighth inning.

CENTRAL ARKANSAS 4, UAPB 0

UCA pitcher Tyler Gray threw a complete-game five hitter to lead the Bears (13-14) past UAPB (8-19) on Tuesday at Bear Stadium in Conway.

Gray had 8 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk on 103 pitches. Justin McCarty was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored to lead Central Arkansas offensively and was the only Bears player with multiple hits.

McCarty scored in the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Michael Haun to give UCA a 1-0 lead. He then hit an RBI single in the fifth inning, scoring Brooks Balisterri for a 2-0 lead. Logan Preston added an RBI single in the eighth inning. He later scored when Balisterri walked with the bases loaded to give the Bears a 4-0 lead.

Julian Jones was 2 for 3 for the Golden Lions, while Joshua Williams, Chris Burns and Jaylen Jackson also got hits. Ashton Holdridge took the loss for UAPB after allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in 5 innings.
