Siloam Springs' Bank of Ozarks open

Bank of the Ozarks has opened a full-service bank at 2401 E. Main St. in Siloam Springs. This is the bank's 11th office in Northwest Arkansas and its first in Siloam Springs. Bank of the Ozarks also has offices in Springdale and Fayetteville under construction.

The new, 3,596-square-foot Siloam Springs bank includes drive-through teller lanes, a drive-through ATM and interior lobby teller stations.

UA offers communication certificate

Working professionals can earn a Business Communications Certificate from the University of Arkansas Global Campus in person or online.

Sessions are 7:45-9 a.m. on Wednesdays through May 4. Cost is $459 and registration is available online at https://secure.sceao.uark.edu/EventCalendar/default.aspx/.

The course is taught by Ryan Stearle, an alumnus of the Sam M. Walton College of Business, who is the national account sales manager and Wal-Mart team leader for Allegro, a division of the Conair Corp.

Credit for previous learning is available. Participants are given the opportunity to submit professional documents, projects, reports and presentations that they have created as part of their professional experiences in lieu of assignments given by the instructor, or they may choose to complete a new assignment or project as given by the instructor.

Arvest breaks ground in Springdale

Arvest Bank held a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday for the construction of a new Springdale branch on Elm Springs Road. The project is scheduled to be done by the end of the year.

The new branch will have about 5,400 square feet of public space that includes four walk-up teller windows, four drive-through lanes and a drive-up ATM.

The contractor is Commerce Construction Co. of Springdale, architects are Hight-Jackson Associates in Rogers and the engineering company is Engineering Services Inc. of Springdale.

First Bank now called Generations

First Bank, the wholly owned subsidiary bank of Harrell Bancshares Inc. with headquarters in Camden, announced that the bank has rebranded and changed its name to Generations Bank. Customers can see the new signs and rebranding at each location.

The bank has branches in Rogers, Siloam Springs, Fayetteville and Van Buren.

The ownership, management and staff of the bank will remain the same, and customers' accounts will not be affected. Customers can continue to use their First Bank checks, debit cards and other First Bank branded bank forms until they receive new rebranded items.

3 Erdos home shops planned in state

Northwest Arkansas will be home to two of 12 Erdos at Homes opening this year. A store at 3335 Market St. in Rogers is open and one at 100 E. Joyce Blvd., Suite 8 in Fayetteville is set to open Saturday.

The stores are by John Erdos, who worked at J. Crew before establishing his design business in Singapore. His designs include furniture, rugs and accessories.

The brand's storefronts will showcase Erdos' latest product offerings. He is introducing "John + Co. Design Services" at each store to help customers create their own personal home design with help from design professionals at no cost.

Erdos at Home debut line features four collections for the spring and summer season, each inspired by some of Erdos' favorite destinations.

Additional stores are opening in Little Rock; Dallas; Oklahoma City and Tulsa; Birmingham, Ala.; Memphis; Ridgeland, Miss.; and St. Louis, Kansas City and Richmond Heights in Missouri.
