A reporter for FOX16 and KARK in Little Rock is leaving to work at a Connecticut station.

Austin Kellerman, news director for the two Nexstar Broadcasting Group stations in Little Rock, said on Twitter that Ken Buffa is moving on to NBC-affiliate WVIT in New Britain, Conn.

Buffa, a New York native, has been a reporter at the two Little Rock stations since September 2014 and is moving to be closer to his parents and fiancee.

"I had to kiss my loved ones goodbye and tell them I’d come back to New York a better reporter and a better man," Buffa said. "There’s a lot Little Rock has given me. People in New York said it’d be a culture shock, but it’s been a character shock. It’s molded me into a better man."

His last day at KARK will be April 28, and he will start his new job in May, Kellerman said.

"He’s a great journalist, and he’s a good person behind the scenes," he said. "He’s a fun, witty, humorous guy that everyone enjoys being around. He'll be missed."
