— Arkansas senior running back Kody Walker suffered a broken right foot during practice Tuesday.

Walker is not expected to miss any playing time this fall, but won't return for the remainder of the team's spring practice. Walker is Arkansas' leading returning rusher from last season and had a team-high 14 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown during a scrimmage last Saturday.

"It required surgery that went well today and doctors expect a full recovery," Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said. "It’s a pretty standard foot injury that we’ve dealt with in the past and we expect him to be full-go by June. If anyone knows how to battle adversity it’s Kody Walker.”

It is is fourth time Walker has suffered a significant injury during a six-year college career in which he has missed 26 games. Because of the injuries, he was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA last summer.

As a true freshman in 2011, Walker scored five touchdowns in the first three games. He suffered a stress fracture in his shin during the third game of the season against Troy, which caused him to miss the rest of the season.

He returned the next season and scored a touchdown in the opener against Jacksonville State, but broke his leg in the Razorbacks' loss to Louisiana-Monroe at War Memorial Stadium.

Last season, Walker missed four games with a broken hand. He finished the season with 394 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

With Walker out, Arkansas has only four running backs cleared for contact for the remainder of the spring. Those backs - Juan Day, Damon Mitchell, Denzel Evans and Connor McPherson - have a combined 20 carries for 152 yards in their career.

Rawleigh Williams, a sophomore, is being held out of contact drills as he rehabilitates from a neck injury that required surgery last October.
