Bella Vista Assembly of God, 1771 Forest Hills Blvd., sponsors a Spaghetti Fiesta and bake sale on Friday, with servings at 11:30 a.m to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets: $7.50, adults; $3, children ages 5-12; and free, children younger than 4. Tickets can be purchased at the church offices and at the banks on the intersection Lancashire and Forest Hills boulevards. Proceeds will be used for local and foreign mission projects.

First United Methodist Church in Rogers, 307 W. Elm St., presents Bishop Kenneth H. Carter Jr., resident bishop of the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church, speaking about God’s creation during the 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services April 24. He presents a lecture at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and a luncheon for questions and answers April 25. His presentation is titled The Sacrament of Creation: The Whole Earth Is Full of God’s Glory.

Carter’s presentations is the 10th bi-annual Lewis Lecture series and is presented to coincide to Earth Day, which is April 22.

Rogers First Church of the Nazarene, 4911 W. Pleasant Grove Road, presents the Collingsworth Family on the Day Is Coming tour at 7 p.m. May 19. Originally from Petersburg, Mich., their music is regularly featured on Englighten, Gospel Music Television, DayStar Network and featured in one-hour specials on the Inspiration network. And they have sung with many Gaither Homecoming concerts across the United States and Canada.

First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, welcomes two staff members of the Kibo Ministry staff in Uganda on Monday. Duncan Ojiambo and Lazarus Wogoli will speak about their ministry at 5 p.m., followed by a potluck meal at 6 p.m. The Rev. Jaimie Alexander, church pastor, has joined two ministry teams traveling to Jinja, Uganda.

The church presents Er-Gene Kahng on violin and Hite on piano in concert at 3 p.m. April 24. They will present romantic violin sonatas of Grieg and Faure and works of 25-year-old composer Stephanie Ann Boyd. Kahng is one of 50 violinists in the United States who will be performing these commissioned works this year. The Wesley Series returns at 7 p.m. May 7 with the Graduate Quartet of the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

The monthly meeting of the caregivers support group presents Cyndie Lyon, a licensed social worker, speaking about essential oils and aromatherapy at 9 a.m. April 25 in the chapel. A Lunch & Learn event by the Broyles Foundation focuses on tips for caregivers caring for themselves and family dynamics from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 2 in Becker Hall.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers, 1101 W. Hudson Road, marks Unity Sunday, with just one worship service, at 10 a.m. Sunday. A Holy Trinity Youth Cafe is served after the service.

Church members join members of other congregations Sunday afternoon for the Mid-South (Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod) District’s 50th anniversary. They will work on a service project at the City of Bentonville’s parks program, followed by a box supper. This program is the start of “Cycle and Serve,” when the Rev. Bill Ondracka of Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Tenn., begins his two-week bicycle journey from Bell Vista to Knoxville, Tenn., stopping at 10 locations along the way to work with various service projects.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Springdale, 6738 Lynch’s Prairie Court, offers the sixth annual Family History Conference from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. Alan Gauldin, a local lawyer and genealogy hobbyist, speaks at 8 a.m. The conference includes more than 30 classes, representatives from local historical societies and a restored stagecoach for pictures.

Christview Ministries in Eureka Springs, 992 County Road 309, celebrates its 12th year of ministry with an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. today, followed by a worship service from 3 to 4 p.m. The nondenominational retreat ministry was founded by the Revs. Judy and John Turner and offers spiritual direction by Judy and Bible teaching by John.

Holiday Island Community Church, 188 Stateline Dr.in Eureka Springs, welcomes a new pastor, The Rev. Jeffrey T. Timm, during worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Timm served the Community Congregation Christian Church in Citrus Springs, Fla., for the past 10 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas; a master of divinity from Duke University in Durham, N.C.; and a doctorate from Columbia Pacific University in San Raphael, Calif. He served in the Air Force chaplaincy program for 21 years, retiring with the rank of lieutentat colonel in 1994. He has served churches of various denominations in Florida, Louisiana and Virginia. He comes to Eureka Springs with his wife Karen.

The Western Carroll County Ministerial Association sponsors a National Day of Prayer event May 5 at the Great Hall of the Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs. State Rep. Bob Ballinger will bring the keynote speech. The National Day of Prayer theme is “Wake Up America,” with a theme verse: Isaiah 58:1a.

A breakfast buffet is available at 6:30 a.m., and the program starts at 7 a.m. Tickets are $12.50 each or $100 for a table of eight.

Arkansas Interfaith Power and Light presents two speakers in observance of the Faith and Climate Action Week from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 23 at the Eureka (Springs) Christian Health Outreach facility, 404 E. Van Buren.

Dr. Donnal Walter, a board member of the group, presents a multi-media overview of the Pope’s Encyclical on Climate Change. He is a physician at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital, both in Little Rock.

Dr. Dan Bell will speak about a new solar array by local installer Jerry Landrum. Off-grid, back-up systems for $2,000 are the latest “solar in a box” technology, and Landrum will provide demonstrations in a trailer parked outside. Bell, also a physician and founder of ECHO, has presented conferences about climate change on children’s health based on research from the American Pediatric Association.
