Thursday recruiting tidbits: 2016 forward set to visit Hogs

Forward Brachen Hazen plans to make an official visit to Arkansas soon.

Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson, associate head coach Melvin Watkins and soon-to-be announced assistant Scotty Thurman visited his school Tuesday to watch him workout and afterward talked to him for about an hour.

Hazen, 6-8, 200 of Columbia City, Indiana said he'll officially visit the Hogs Monday through Wednesday.

He was granted a release from Central Florida after Coach Donnie Jones was fired. He plans unofficially visit Purdue to workout for the Boilermakers today and he'll then travel to Vanderbilt for an unofficial visit on Friday.

Hazen picked Central Florida over scholarship offers from Ball State, Clemson, Creighton, Maryland, Richmond, Valparaiso and others. He said only Ball State remains in the race for him.

Arkansas safety target Todd Harris of Plaquemine, La. tripled jumped 43 feet 2-inches on Wednesday and advanced to next week's regionals. ESPN rates him the No. 5 safety and No. 54 overall prospect in the nation.

Junior linebacker Kerpink Williams, 6-2, 217 of Little Rock Central received camp invites to Arkansas, Southern Cal, Penn State and California on Wednesday. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Sophomore running back Trivenskey Mosley, 5-11, 185, 4.47 of Shreveport Woodlawn said he's been communicating with Arkansas receivers coach Michael Smith and believes the Hogs are close to offering. Texas A&M, LSU, Baylor and TCU are also showing interest.

He rushed for 1,644 yards and 23 touchdowns on 215 carries. He also had 305 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Fayetteville defensive lineman Akail Byers and Coach Daryl Patton have been invited to play and coach in the 2017 Under Armour All American game.

2017 guard of Hot Springs Exavion Christon, who plays for the 17-under Arkansas Wings EYBL, has an offer from UALR and is drawing interest from Arkansas, UAB, Belmont, Southern Miss, North Texas, Memphis and others.
