Bentonville seeks volunteers for cleanup

BENTONVILLE -- The city will participate in Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup by holding a citywide "Clean the Streets Day" on May 7.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, and volunteers are needed to help pick up litter along city streets, according to a news release.

City officials ask groups with children younger than 12 not sign up for the Walton Boulevard or 14th Street locations for safety reasons. Trash bags, safety vests and gloves will be provided.

Signups and more information are available at www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4daaaf23a3fb6-clean.

The Great American Cleanup takes place each spring from March through May and is the nation's largest community improvement effort, according to the release.
