Mike Beebe named to board for Conway-based bank holding company

CONWAY — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe has been named to the board of directors for Conway-based Home BancShares, Inc.

The company announced the appointment Thursday. Beebe is a Democrat who served two terms as Arkansas governor. Before that, he served as Arkansas' attorney general and in the state Legislature. He also serves on the board of directors for Springdale-based Tyson Foods Inc.

Beebe said in a statement that he's honored to serve on the board.

Home BancShares is a bank holding company that is the parent company of Centennial Bank, which has branch locations in Arkansas, Florida, south Alabama and a loan production office in New York.
