7 stars of 'A League of Their Own' due at Arkansas ballpark

Six former castmates will join actress Geena Davis for the second annual A League of Their Own reunion ballgame May 8 at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale.

The game is part of the Bentonville Film Festival taking place May 3-8. Davis is co-founder of the festival and starred in the 1992 movie about a women's professional baseball league in the Midwest during World War II.

"This event was so popular last year that we decided to do it again," Davis said in a news release.

She will be joined by Megan Cavanaugh who played Marla Hooch, Ann Cusack who played Shirley Baker, Tracy Reiner who played Betty "Spaghetti" Horn, Anne Ramsay who played Helen Haley, Patti Pelton who played Marbleann Wilkenson and Freddie Simpson who played Ellen Sue Gotlander.

The game will start at 2 p.m., but gates open at noon for other family events.

There will be an area outside the stadium that will feature food sampling and games. The Peekaboo Magazine Kids' Zone will be inside the ballpark and will feature inflatables, an obstacle course, miniature golf, Wiffle ball, the NWA Naturals Kids' Train, a photo booth, laser tag archery, an art station, children's mechanical bull riding and more.
