Motorcycle wrecks fatal to 2 on Arkansas roads; 1 injured

Arkansas State Police reported two killed in motorcycle accidents on Arkansas roads late last week.

At 9 p.m. Friday, Christian Gudino-Salgado, 26, of Springdale was killed when he struck a Chevy sport utility vehicle from behind while driving a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle west on Don Tyson Parkway in Springdale, according to a state police report.

Weather conditions were clear, and roads were dry at the time of the collision, the report said.

On Saturday morning, Jennifer Vandenberg, 38, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, was riding as a passenger on a 2007 Harley-Davidson traveling south on Interstate 49 in Texarkana when a tire blew out and the driver lost control, overturning the motorcycle, according to a state police report.

Vandenberg was taken to Christus St. Michael hospital in Texarkana, Texas, where she was pronounced dead at 2:30 a.m. The driver, Vernon Vandenberg, was treated at the hospital.

Conditions at the time of the accident were clear and dry, according to the report.
