UAFS names new top finance officer

A new top finance officer has been named for the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.

Bradley Sheriff will begin May 9 as the school's vice chancellor for finance and administration.

Sheriff currently oversees the finances of academic programs at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, serving as assistant vice chancellor of business and finance for academic affairs.

"Mr. Sheriff's exceptional financial knowledge and higher education experience make him a perfect choice to lead the areas of finance and administration at UAFS," Chancellor Paul Beran said in a statement.

Sheriff will earn a yearly salary of $175,000. He replaces Darrell Morrison, who left last year and is now the chief financial officer at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.

Mark Horn, UAFS' interim vice chancellor for finance and administration, will retire.
