Arkansas elementary school teacher charged in teen alcohol case

A Sherwood elementary school teacher was arrested early Sunday morning on 33 counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to a news release on the Lonoke County sheriff's office Facebook page.

Marcie Duncan, 48, who told authorities she is a teacher at Clinton Elementary in Sherwood, was arrested by Lonoke County deputies who responded about 4 a.m. Sunday near Austin to a suspected after-prom party involving alcohol.

Duncan was charged with 33 counts of contributing to delinquency, 33 counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor, two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and violation of the Arkansas Social Host law.
