Bentonville seeks artists for two projects

BENTONVILLE -- The Bentonville Public Art Advisory Committee and Visit Bentonville have selected "Walk, Bike, Run, Play" as the theme for 2016 and are soliciting art proposals to help implement it.

The first call for a proposal is for "Tunnel Vision," according to a news release. The proposals should be from interested artists who would like to transform four tunnels along the Bentonville trail system.

The Public Arts Advisory Committee will pay a maximum of $2,000 per selected artwork.

The second call for a proposal is for an "Art-Infused Crosswalk." The committee is seeking artists who can create a unique design for a crosswalk to be located in the Bentonville Arts District. The artist of the winning design will receive an award of $1,500.

Proposal requirements are available online at www.bentonvillear.com/departments/planning-department/boards-commissions/public-arts-advisory-committee.

To receive a digital copy, contact Shelli Kerr at skerr@bentonvillear.com or 479-271-6826.
