A Texas-based broadband company will create more than 28 jobs when it opens a new office in Paragould, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission said Thursday.
Mike Preston, director of the commission, said in a news release that GW Communications' decision to open the new office shows the "strength and reputation of the area workforce" and how Arkansas is growing a reputation for being "hub for data and telecommunications companies."
The news release described the 28 positions as including computer-aided design drafting and computer operator jobs. The CEO of the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce said the positions "pay a very competitive salary," though the exact amount wasn't immediately known.
GW Communications, which is based in Coppell, Texas, counts as its clients AT&T, Verizon and Windstream, according to the news release.
