Jazz trio

The Peter and Will Anderson Trio — Peter and Will Anderson, clarinet and saxophone, and Alex Wintz, guitar — will kick off Wildwood Park for the Arts’ 2016 House Concert series with a performance at 7 p.m. today in the Cabe Festival Theatre Studios at Wildwood, 20919 Denny Road, Little Rock. OBU choir

The Ouachita Baptist University Concert Choir will perform Mark Hayes’ Requiem and Te Deum at 7:30 p.m. today in McBeth Recital Hall at OBU in Arkadelphia. Hot Springs arts

The Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance will hold its annual 10-day Arts & the Park festival, more than 50 events and exhibitions showcasing visual artists, musicians, dancers, poets, jewelers, potters, performers, authors, glass makers and sculptors, Friday-May 8 at venues throughout Hot Springs. Memphis abstract painter and Hot Springs native Thomas Green, one of the festival’s featured artists, will participate in the Launch Party, 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Mid-America Science Museum, 500 Mid America Blvd., Hot Springs. An audio-visual display of Green’s work will debut in the museum’s Oaklawn Foundation Digital Dome Theater, where it will show through May 8 with paid museum admission. The party will also feature “live painting” by artists Gary Simmons, Richard Stephens, Bethannie Newsom Steelman and Alex Oberste, and music from Clifton Coleman, Marque Haupert and Brittany Osman, plus hors d’oeuvres by Next Level Kitchen. Green will hold an artist talk at 6 p.m. Saturday at Justus Fine Art Gallery, 827 Central Ave., where his paintings will be on display through May as part of an exhibition titled “Natural Design,” which will also feature work by Robert Fogel and Tony Saladino. Jungle kids

Conway’s Red Curtain Theatre will stage The Jungle Book, Kids!, adapted by Marcy Heisler from the Disney animated film (music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman, Robert B. Chili Cook-off

Gates open at 10 a.m. Saturday for the Pine Bluff Chili Cook-off, 200 Lake Saracen Drive, Pine Bluff. The event will include an 11:30 a.m. salsa demonstration by University of Arkansas Extension agents, plus performances by the Brian Austin Blues Band, the On Call Band and Platinum Hits Band; kayak and paddleboat racing on the lake; a rock-climbing wall; line dancing; and face-painting for the kids. Chili and hot pepper tastings start at noon; the chili becomes available at 2:30 p.m. for people’s choice voting. Winners will be announced at 4:30. Admission is free. Call (870) 536-0920.

Mountain View music
