Now tasked with rebuilding from a fire, Stoby’s has opened a temporary drive-thru location that harkens back to the Conway landmark’s original menu.

The Stoby’s Express location at 1310 Prince St. in Conway features items that were available before the restaurant had a grill — with sandwiches, salads, soups and award-winning cheese dip among the options.

Aaron Worley, general manager at Stoby’s, said demolition continued Thursday at the site of the original Stoby’s location in Conway, 805 Donaghey Ave., which was destroyed in a fire last month.

That fire started just after 6:30 a.m. March 19 when a drop of grease fell from a vent hood onto a stove as a cook was frying chips, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported.

“As soon as the final drawings and plans are in place, we will start construction,” Worley said, adding that a reopening at that site is expected after an eight-month construction process.

Stoby’s Express is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. To-go orders can be placed by calling (501) 327-6161.

More information about the drive-thru location is available by visiting the Stoby’s website.
