— Hunter Henry was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the second round, with the 35th overall pick, of the 2016 NFL Draft Friday night in Chicago.

He was the first tight end drafted.

It is the highest an Arkansas player has been taken in the draft since 2008, when Darren McFadden and Felix Jones were first-round picks.

The selection comes after a season in which Henry caught 51 passes for 739 yards and three touchdowns for the Razorbacks. That performance helped him win the John Mackey Award as the country's top tight end.

In Arkansas' 53-52 overtime win over Ole Miss, he made one of college football's plays of the year, throwing the lateral to Alex Collins that kept their overtime drive alive.

During his three-year career, Henry made 116 receptions for 1,661 yards and nine touchdowns. He earned SEC all-freshman honors in 2012 and was a unanimous all-American in 2015.

Henry's selection extends Arkansas' streak to 10 consecutive years with at least one player drafted.

The NFL Draft will get through the third round Friday and concludes Saturday with rounds four through seven.

Running backs Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams, offensive linemen Denver Kirkland and Sebastian Tretola, and quarterback Brandon Allen are also expected to drafted at some point.
