Nine children and a school bus driver were transported to a local hospital for evaluation after a car hit a bus in North Little Rock on Friday morning, according to a district spokesman.
North Little Rock Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brian Dedrick said it happened about 8 a.m. when the North Little Rock School District bus stopped near 16th and Moss Streets because of a fight on board.
Police were called to break up the fight and were on the way when a car crashed into the stopped bus, Dedrick said.
In a statement, North Little Rock School District spokesman Rhonda Colquitt said the students and bus driver "had no visible signs of injury."
About 8:30 a.m., Dedrick said ambulances were on scene as crews checked out students complaining of pain.
The students and driver were later taken to a hospital for further examination as "a safety precaution," Colquitt said.
The North Little Rock School District bus was carrying middle school students, Dedrick said.
