Jonathan Woodard became just the 10th Central Arkansas player ever taken in the NFL Draft Saturday afternoon in Chicago.

He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the seventh round with the 226th overall pick.

The Brentwood, Tennessee, native was a four-time all-Southland defensive end for the Bears and broke the school record with 33.5 career sacks.

As a senior, Woodard made 33 tackles, including 10.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.

It is the second consecutive year a UCA player has been drafted. Wide receiver Dezmin Lewis was a seventh-round pick in 2015.
