Little Rock Target employee robbed at gunpoint inside store, police say

A Target employee in Little Rock was robbed at gunpoint late Saturday by two people while collecting money from cash registers at the front of the store around closing time, according to police.

In a report, authorities said the 25-year-old employee was approached by two robbers, described as black males, around 11 p.m. at 420 S. University Ave. The store closes at 11 p.m. each night.

Both had their faces masked by the hoods of their hooded sweatshirts, the employee told police.

One of the robbers, who was also wearing a surgical mask, then pointed a silver handgun at her, demanding that the store worker give him a cart used to hold the money, according to authorities.

The employee said the other robber was later able to grab the cart. At that point, both people left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in a getaway vehicle driven by a third person described as a black male, police said.

The three suspects were seen leaving the parking lot in a blue Ford F-150 pickup described as having a year model of 2000 or 2001.

According to police, the Target employee was not injured.

Another Target worker told authorities that he believes the three had entered the store earlier and pretended to shop.
