Body of missing swimmer found in Arkansas river, sheriff's office says

The body of a man who was caught in a current while swimming with friends in a northeast Arkansas river over the weekend has been found, according to authorities.

In a statement Tuesday morning, the Jackson County sheriff’s office said 20-year-old Dylan Person was found at 9:08 a.m. in the Black River. He disappeared Sunday afternoon in the area known as Lockhart Bluffs at Tuckerman.

A dive team from neighboring Independence County as well as the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and state parks officials were among the agencies involved in the search.

A call to Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas for additional information was not immediately returned.
