A man was hospitalized after he was attacked and robbed Tuesday in downtown Little Rock, police reported.
Officers were called about 5:28 a.m. Tuesday to UAMS Medical Center, where Devell Chambers, 44, was being treated for a head injury, according to a police report. Police said the injury was not life-threatening.
Chambers told police he'd withdrawn money from an ATM in the area of South Chester Street and West Capitol Avenue, and that two men pulled up in a white Ford Crown Victoria shortly after the transaction, according to the report. One of the men struck Chambers in the head with a pistol as Chambers was walking away. The men then took his bank card, cellphone and $720 cash.
The robbers are both described as black, about 5-foot-8 and weighing 150 pounds. One wore a black T-shirt, red bandana and jeans. The other also wore a black T-shirt and jeans.
No arrests had been made Wednesday.
