BENTONVILLE — The Walmart Foundation has awarded a $1 million grant to Ducks Unlimited to support rice producers in the Mississippi River Delta region and along the Gulf Coast.
Ducks Unlimited says the grant supports work through the USA Rice and Ducks Unlimited Rice Stewardship Partnership. It will support rice growers who are interested in implementing conservation measures on their farms.
The funding will be used primarily for technical assistance to and training for farm owners, operators and workers.
Ducks Unlimited says the grant's aim is to "increase sustainability and profitability" for rice producers.
