A Forrest City woman died Monday when the car she was driving ran off U.S. 64, authorities said.
It happened shortly before 4 p.m. in Wynne as Viola D. Lee, 71, drove a 1991 Oldsmobile 88 east on the highway, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
Police say the vehicle veered off the road and into a ditch before it struck a culvert. The report didn't specify what caused the vehicle to leave the highway.
Lee suffered fatal injuries.
Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.
The death was the 311th fatality on Arkansas roads so far in 2016, according to preliminary figures.
