State police: Semi-truck 'lands on' vehicle, kills 3 Arkansans

A wreck involving a semi-truck killed three Blytheville residents Wednesday morning in Mississippi County.

According to Arkansas State Police, driver Robert Davis, 76; Della Stringer, 64; and Trestan Johnson, 30, were traveling north on U.S. 61 in a 2001 Hyundai and approached the intersection with County Road 346 at 9:41 a.m. A Mack semi-truck approached the intersection at the same time, driving south on U.S. 61, state police said.

The crash report said the semi-truck crossed the centerline and lost control; it overturned, "landing on" the Hyundai. Davis, Stringer and Johnson were all killed, and the semi-truck's driver, Tracy Marion, 32, was injured and taken to Great Rivers Medical Center.

The deaths were the 317th, 318th and 319th of 2016 on Arkansas roads, according to preliminary state police data. Police listed road conditions as clear and dry when the wreck occurred.
