4 killed in crashes on state roadways

Three Blytheville residents died Wednesday after a truck went out of control and landed on a car in which they were riding, according to a police report.

A Mack truck was traveling south on U.S. 61 in Mississippi County about 9:41 a.m. when it crossed the centerline and went out of control, landing on a 2001 Hyundai that was northbound, police said.

Three Blytheville residents -- Robert Davis, 76; Della Stringer, 64; and Trestan Johnson, 30 -- died in the crash, police said.

The truck driver, Tracy Marion, 32, of Blytheville, was injured in the crash, according to the report.

Also on Wednesday, a moped crash in Washington County killed a Searcy woman, according to a police report.

About 12:57 p.m., Kimberly Martin, 31, was driving a moped south on 48th Street when she approached an intersection with Rotary Lane and left the road, crashing into a culvert, police said. Martin died from the crash, police said.

Police said the weather was clear and the road was dry in both crashes.
