Dylan Lee Hooks, 20, of Hot Springs was arrested around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday and charged with felony counts of possession of a firearm by certain persons, theft of a firearm, fleeing and theft of property. Hooks also had a failure to appear warrant and probation violation.

His passenger -- Matthew Seth Magby, 19, of Hot Springs -- was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

At 9 a.m. Wednesday, Cpl. Jeremy Simpson of the Garland County sheriff's office located a stolen GMC Sierra 2500 being tracked by OnStar, and he stopped the pickup at 1008 Blacksnake Road. The driver fled into the woods, according to an arrest affidavit.

Magby, who stayed with the vehicle, said Hooks was the driver. He told deputies that Hooks had grabbed a firearm from the vehicle before he fled.

A Hot Springs Police Department K-9 unit and law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies patrolled the area for about six hours Wednesday before Hooks was found and taken into custody.
