Arkansas company to add more than 100 'high wage' jobs

A company in Fort Smith that provides business office support for health care facilities will add dozens of jobs in an expansion announced Monday, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

Scott Hardin, a spokesman for the commission, said he couldn't reveal the precise number of jobs Shared Services Center will add, but he said that they will number more than 100. He described the positions as "high wage."

"The growth is fairly immediate," Hardin said when asked when the positions would be filled.

The jobs are being added as the company, one of Fort Smith's largest employers, expands its presence in the Phoenix Center, a property that houses it, retail stores and medical practices, the commission said in a news release.

In a statement, Gov. Asa Hutchinson thanked the company for "continuing to make significant investments in our great state."
