Security guard beaten at Little Rock Kroger released from hospital

A security guard at a Little Rock Kroger who was initially listed in critical condition after being beaten by two assailants at the store has been discharged from the hospital, authorities said Tuesday.

Little Rock Police Department spokesman officer Michelle Hill said in an email that Reginald Young, 58, was released from the hospital and is "doing fine" after the Saturday attack at the Kroger at 6420 Colonel Glenn Road.

Police have not yet made any arrests and are still reviewing surveillance video from the business in an attempt to identify the attackers, Hill said.

According to the police report, Young on Saturday night spotted a man "concealing merchandise on his person" and then escorted him from the store. Outside, that man and a second assailant repeatedly hit Young, leaving him with a swollen nose and left eye
