Must help the flooded

Why is God letting it rain so much in that largely Catholic country (southern Louisiana)? Well, he wants them to get on their knees, help the flooded, pray the rosary, attend Mass and receive our Lord under the forms of bread and wine--a good reason for confession too.

God loves these people very much, I am sure. He wants us all to help. He also loves us very much. Let us help one another all we can; love one another as much as we can. He also loves the people of Milwaukee, Dallas, etc. Let us make a sign for those large city gatherings--"Black and Whites Together in Love." I am sending Catholic Relief Services a check for $1.50 or so (or any relief service).

Not fit to be president

Someone from that other village near Hot Springs needs to get their facts straight.

No. 1, I believe the tragedy in Benghazi cannot be blamed on Hillary Clinton or our president; the blame is directly on our do-nothing Republican Congress. The administration asked for additional funding for our embassy and troops in Benghazi, but the do-nothing Congress, led by then Speaker of the House John Boehner, balked.

No. 2, if Donald J. Trump had been president, I believe we might not be here now. The man's companies have been bankrupt multiple times, he says he would consult himself on foreign affairs, and he probably would have started an all-out nuclear war. All he seems to know how to do is spout foul language and racist comments.

No one baited Trump to make abusive remarks about one of our fallen war heroes; that was his own idea. I believe Trump is not fit to be a garbage collector, let alone president of one of the world's most powerful nations.

Can't be tied to Trump

I agree with Garey Perkins' letter. I am sorry the Khans lost their son and I pray every night for the men and women that protect our people. Donald Trump handled it wrong and played right into the hands of the liberals. Just remember Trump can in no way be tied to Captain Khan's death, but I believe Hillary Clinton's fingerprints are all over the Benghazi deaths!

Voters will remember

We are reminded once again that the paper's middle name is "Democrat." It appears, according to several stories and editorials, the presidential race is over and Hellary (not a misspelling) has won. The power-mad incompetent Democrat has triumphed over the successful Republican businessman.

It ain't so! Voters ain't that stupid. First off, they remember Waco and who called the shots there; and Billy Dale and how that went; and the Clinton health plan and how that went. They will remember her emails and sure as hell remember Benghazi.

It seems the Democrats continue to follow the same game plan they've used in previous elections: spend money (and Hillary has a horrendous war chest), lie, get others to lie, and lie some more. And let's not forget, twist the words of the Republican. The worst part of the campaign is that the timid Republicans are afraid to fight and either hide, refuse to support their candidate, or say that they've always thought that Hillary was a warm, empathetic woman whom they've always admired.

It is very important to remember that our next president will nominate a Supreme Court justice. Equally important, that president will also get to nominate other federal judges, both district and appellate. These justices will have the power to affect how our Constitution is read.

So this presidential election is not really about who will be our next president, but who will be our next judges and justices. Will we continue to have a Constitution or not? Vote wisely.

Logically speaking ...

I am an attorney, a former Bentonville teacher, NWACC instructor, University of Phoenix instructor (among other institutions), and judge. I do not write to agree or disagree with the preferred choice of a presidential candidate of Ms. Elizabeth Waddle of Sherwood. As I am a student and teacher of science and logic, however, I prize clear thinking, and Ms. Waddle's letter is such a concise example of a failure that I must comment upon it.

She first excuses and exempts Donald Trump (actually Drumpf) from any critique because, "After all, he is running for office."

She then states that she would not vote for Hillary Clinton if she were the last person on earth (which is clearly correct since it would be impossible).

Ms. Waddle then concludes her logic with the statement, "She really tries to play up to people and it is all political." I am pleased to see that she realizes that "it is all political," but would really like to hear how she distinguishes what Donald has to say from "it is all political."

Doomed either way

The theories: Hillary will appoint Supreme Court justices who will destroy the Constitution. The Donald will become "Il Duce" and declare martial law, suspending the Constitution.

We must tolerate our Mussolinis, no?

The four horses of the apocalypse: Il Duce rides the first horse, Hitler rides the second, Stalin the third.

Il Duce rides again. John Hinckley has been released. Et tu, Brute? Stay tuned.

We're on our own now

Concerned that God has finally abandoned the "good old" U.S. of A? Two words prove that he has: Clinton, Trump!
