Rifle, ballistic vest, handcuffs stolen from unmarked Rogers police car

A rifle, handcuffs and a ballistic vest were stolen from an unmarked police vehicle parked at Rogers police officer's home, according to a news release issued Tuesday by the Rogers Police Department.

Three loaded magazines for the Bushmaster AR-15 rifle and two loaded magazines for a Glock 17 pistol were also stolen, according to the news release.

The ballistic vest has "Police" patches on the chest and back, the news release stated.

There is surveillance video of the theft, which happened around 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, but heavy fog "significantly reduced the quality of the images," according to the news release.

The department will release suspect information if it becomes available, the news release stated. The news release does not provide the address where the theft occurred or say whether the vehicle was locked.

Correction: A previous version of this story misstated which weapons had been stolen. The error has been corrected.
