Work is continuing on a pedestrian bridge being constructed from the Arkansas River Trail beneath the Clinton Presidential Center to a 9-acre sandbar island on the Arkansas River.
The 100-foot-long, 14-foot-wide bridge, primarily funded by a Sturgis Foundation grant, was to open by the end of the year, but the project has been slowed by construction challenges.
The bridge will open up the island to trails and fishing.
