The Arkansas unemployment rate went unchanged from June to July while the number of unemployed people slightly increased.

According to the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services, which used data from the U.S. Department of Labor, the unemployment rate in the state stayed at 3.9 percent in July, below the national rate of 4.9 percent. The state's jobless rate sat at 5.2 percent in July 2015.

The number of unemployed people in Arkansas went up by 270 from June to July this year while 2,430 people dropped out of the labor force, which is the number of people working or looking for work.

The state's June unemployment rate was originally reported as a record-low 3.8 percent but was later revised upward to 3.9 percent.
