The prosecuting attorney for Franklin County has placed a first-degree murder hold on Cody Whitten after the man Whitten is accused of wounding last weekend died Wednesday.
A news release from the Ozark Police Department said Cody Duncan, 23, of Altus died at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville of a gunshot wound in his head. He was shot Saturday night.
Details about the shooting are not being released by the Police Department because the investigation is ongoing.
Whitten, 29, was jailed Sunday on a first-degree battery charge.
