Phone, cards taken in hot-sauce attack in downtown Little Rock

A man threw hot sauce in a homeless man's eyes during a robbery Wednesday in downtown Little Rock, police reported.

Shawn Cline, 45, told police he'd been sleeping at 400 W. Seventh St. when a man approached about 9 p.m. and threw the spicy condiment in his eyes, according to a police report. The man then took Cline's cellphone, bank card and ID card, as well as a pair of scissors, the report said.

Officers reported that Cline's eyes were red and watery, but he refused medical treatment.

Cline told police he'd given the robber a honey bun earlier in the day, but he didn't know the man's name, the report said.

The robber is described as black, bald, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 200 pounds.
