The actor who voiced the talking tree named Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy let it slip that his Marvel superhero team will sprout up in Avengers: Infinity War. Vin Diesel teased during a Facebook Live video Friday that the intergalactic do-gooders will be part of the third Avengers movie. The Infinity War installment is expected to unite several Marvel characters from across 18 films. Diesel called the planned Avengers mash-up “incredibly exciting.” A spokesman for Avengers studio Disney did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled to premiere May 5, 2017, while Infinity War is set for release May 4, 2018.

If ever there was a man worthy of a grand birthday bash in San Francisco, it had to be Tony Bennett. And that is exactly what happened Friday. After the speeches, the music and the praise for the legendary crooner, hundreds of people watched as an 8-foot-tall bronze statue of Bennett was unveiled outside the Fairmont Hotel, where he first sang “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” in 1961. Bennett, who turned 90 earlier this month, shared only a few words and didn’t sing. “That’s the most beautiful statue I have ever seen. It will live in my heart forever. Thank you for being so wonderful to me. I’ll never forget this day,” he said. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee also declared Aug. 19 to be Tony Bennett Day.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler isn’t giving Disney World a thumbs-up for digitally altering his hand in a video that plays at an attraction featuring the band. Tyler, wearing a hat with an expletive written on it, posted a photo of himself on social media last week making the same gesture as he did in the opening video for the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Fla. Several videos and images posted on social media this week by visitors to the 17-year-old attraction show Tyler’s fingers were changed at some point in the opening footage. Tyler wrote on Facebook that he was shocked by the change. He wrote, in all capital letters: “Way to give me the finger now Walt Disney World.” Disney World did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
