FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas has added a two-way transfer from TCU.
Junior Zack Plunkett (6-foot-2, 205 pounds) has joined the Razorbacks after playing on back-to-back College World Series teams with the Horned Frogs.
Plunkett is a catcher and right-handed pitcher. He will likely have to redshirt the 2017 season and have two years of eligibility remaining.
As a sophomore, Plunkett played in 18 games and started six times at catcher. He had a .200 batting average in 25 plate appearances and a perfect fielding percentage.
He also made one relief appearance as a pitcher and worked a scoreless inning against Texas Tech.
As a senior at Bell High School in Hurst, Texas, Plunkett was selected to the Fort Worth Star Telegram Super Team and named one of the 500 best players nationally by Perfect Game.
Plunkett will go through fall practice with the Razorbacks beginning Sept. 9 at Baum Stadium.
