A Hope man is accused of having a sexual relationship with a child under the age of 14, according to police.
Jonathon Trotter, 28, was arrested Friday on two counts of rape as a result of an investigation into suspected sexual contact with the minor, the Hope Police Department said in a news release.
Additional information regarding Trotters’ arrest as well as the investigation was not immediately available.
Trotter was being held at the Hempstead County jail as of Tuesday afternoon waiting a first appearance, police said.
